사주命理學上의 神煞 位相에 관한 硏究 : 十二神煞을 중심으로

Four pillars of destiny is assumed to be originated from efforts for finding the union point between nature and human, and it has been still continuously developed as a positive philosophy for calculating a person’s destiny.
In literature, it is found that the four pillars of destiny was created by Gwakpark and there are two schools- Sammyunghak and Japyeonghak. Sammyunghak is for calculating a person’s life with 3 values and Japyenghak is based on the five evolution phases of the five elements, and Japyenghak is referred as four pillars of destiny in general. This paper is to investigate the theoretical background of Shensh? and 12Shensh?, which have not been revealed clearly yet. For this study, their theoretical background is assumed to be originated from the school of five stars and its origin in the Western astrology. The Western astrology is found to be about 2,000 years faster than the Eastern astrology and it is commonly believed that the Western astrology was flewed into China and the Eastern astrology bloomed from it. The Chinese zodiac of the school of five stars is very closely with the 12 astrological signs of the Western astrology, and the theoretical background for principles of bearing in the Eastern astrology could be supported by the Western astrology. These structural similarity supports the view of that the Western astrology directly influences the establishment and development of Shensh? of the four pillars of destiny.
Even though there are about 300 types of Shensh?, but only 20~30 types of Sinsal are currently being used and such use is further limited by negative view towards Sinsal. Shensh? in the reasoning method of three destinies is referred as the gyeokgookyongsin-method of the day and it allows the calculation of destiny with Sipsalnapeum including the birth year. It is quite different from a main purpose for the employment of Sipsalnapeum, because currently people hesitate to employ Sinsal.
Currently, the support of great fortune or luck is applied directly onto Sipeesinsal. In the Sammyunghak, Sinsal is developed upon year, but in the Japyeonghak, even a date is included, and that is because Japyeonghak emphasizes daily destiny. Currently, the utilization of Sinsal is very limited and made in a very simple manner. 12Shensh? is based on xodiacal constellations of the twelve houses and it is one section of the school of five stars. The principle of Samhap is very closely related with Shensh? and the development of Sinsal is considered to be one of essential principles of Samphapjungsool, which is also known as the school of bearing. The employment and utilization of Shensh? is described with examples from “San Ming Tong Hui” since it could be objective due to a sufficient number of actual examples and even actual people’s name.
Even though the importance of Shensh? in the four pillars of destiny has been diminished, still principles of Japyeonghak cannot substitute it fully. Therefore, it would be reasonable to utilize Shensh? in a reasonable and systematical manner to support the reasoning of Saju-Myungwoon as well as development of the four pillars of destiny. Still, Shensh? cannot be the only one factor and there could be a risk of Shensh? being degenerated as a simple tool for calculating the superficial destiny. Despite of such risks, it would be wise to take full advantages of Shensh? rather than neglecting it whole. Shensh?, which has been employed in various areas in multiple aspects, should not be neglected and denied any more for the development of the four pillars of destiny.
