2025 한국아동?청소년 패널조사 :사업보고서

국문 초록 (Abstract)

아동·청소년기는 신체적·정신적·사회적 측면에서 급격한 변화를 경험하는 시기이며, 이러한 발달은 가정, 학교, 지역사회 등 다양한 환경과의 상호작용 속에서 이루어진다. 급변하는 사회와 디지털 환경 속에서 아동과 청소년이 건강하게 성장하고 자립적 역량을 갖출 수 있도록 지원하기 위해서는, 발달의 장기적 변화 과정을 체계적으로 추적할 수 있는 종단적 연구 기반이 필수적이다.
한국아동·청소년패널조사(Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey, 이하 KCYPS)는 아동과 청소년의 성장 및 발달 과정을 장기적으로 추적하여, 개인의 발달경로와 환경적 요인 간의 상호작용을 종합적으로 이해할 수 있도록 설계된 국가승인 통계조사이다. 본 조사는 아동·청소년 관련 정책 수립과 학술연구의 근거자료를 제공함으로써, 세대별 발달구조를 장기적으로 조망할 수 있는 기초자료로 활용되고 있다.
2025년에는 KCYPS 2018의 제8차년도 조사가 실시되었으며, 2018년 기준 중학교 1학년이었던 중1 코호트는 제7차년도 조사를 마지막으로 조사가 종료되었다. 이에 따라 2025년에는 2018년 기준 초등학교 4학년이었던 초4 코호트만을 대상으로 조사가 진행되었다. 제8차년도 조사는 고등학교 2학년에 해당하는 응답자의 학업, 진로, 정서, 관계, 건강 등 발달적 변화에 중점을 두고 설계되었으며, 아동기에서 청소년기를 거쳐 성인기로 이행하는 전환기의 발달 경로를 종단적으로 파악할 수 있도록 하였다.
한편, 2025년은 신규패널(한국아동·청소년패널조사 2025, KCYPS 2025)이 새롭게 구축된 해로, 변화하는 사회·교육·디지털 환경 속에서 성장하는 새로운 세대(알파세대)의 발달과 적응 양상을 종합적으로 이해하기 위한 기반이 마련되었다. KCYPS 2025는 표본설계와 조사도구 개발, 조사방식의 고도화를 통해, 향후 세대 간 발달의 연속성과 변화를 통합적으로 분석할 수 있는 새로운 종단연구체계를 구축하였다.
한국청소년정책연구원에서 생산한 KCYPS 데이터는 현재까지 약 4,400여 편의 국내외 학술논문에 활용될 정도로 높은 연구 활용도를 보이고 있으며, 아동·청소년 정책 수립과 평가의 근거자료로 폭넓게 사용되고 있다. 앞으로도 한국청소년정책연구원은 연구자, 학계, 정책 당국과의 협력을 통해 양질의 패널데이터를 구축하고, KCYPS가 아동·청소년·청년 발달 연구의 핵심 인프라로서 학문적·정책적 기여를 지속해 나갈 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Childhood and youth are periods characterized by rapid physical, psychological, and social changes that occur through interactions with various environments such as family, school, and community. In a rapidly changing society shaped by digital transformation, establishing a longitudinal research foundation to systematically track developmental changes is essential to support children and youth in achieving healthy growth and self-reliance.
The Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey (KCYPS) is a nationally approved longitudinal survey designed to comprehensively examine the developmental trajectories of children and youth and their interaction with environmental factors over time. The survey provides critical empirical data for evidence-based policymaking and academic research, serving as a foundation for understanding generational developmental structures in the long term.
In 2025, the 8th wave of the KCYPS 2018 was conducted. The middle school first-grade cohort from 2018 completed its participation with the 7th wave, and thus, the 8th wave targeted only the elementary school fourth-grade cohort from 2018. The 8th wave focused on developmental transitions in academic achievement, career preparation, emotional adjustment, interpersonal relationships, and health among respondents who are now in the second year of high school, enabling a longitudinal understanding of developmental pathways from childhood through youth to early adulthood.
Additionally, 2025 marked the launch of a new panel, KCYPS 2025, designed to examine the developmental and adaptive characteristics of the new "Alpha Generation," growing up amid social, educational, and digital transformations. Through refined sampling design, updated instruments, and enhanced data collection methods, KCYPS 2025 establishes a new longitudinal research framework to integrate analyses of intergenerational developmental continuity and change.
Data produced by the National Youth Policy Institute (NYPI) through KCYPS have been extensively utilized in approximately 4,400 domestic and international academic publications, demonstrating its significant research value. The dataset continues to serve as a key empirical foundation for child and youth policy formulation and evaluation. Going forward, NYPI will continue to collaborate with researchers, academia, and policymakers to strengthen the KCYPS as a core national infrastructure supporting academic and policy advancements in child and youth development studies.
