아동기 부모교육,상담을 위한 부모역할지능척도의 타당화 = A Study on Parental Intelligence Scale Development and Validityin Parent Education / Counselling at Childhood

This study is an attempt to validate the `Parental Intelligence Scale`, which can be applied in the parent education and counselling and provide more useful information for more appropriate interventions by evaluating the characteristics of parent`s roles and strong/weak points of the parent`s roles under the special situation and environments. In order to validate the developed Parental Intelligence Scale, group comparison tests were conducted between 3 groups; parent group who had completed the parent education class; that who ever had brought their children in child clinic; and other general parent group. Predictive validity tests with K-CBCL and SCL-90-R were performed. The outcomes of the study showed significant difference between the 3 parent groups, and the sub-factors which categorized the groups were empathy, encourage, enhancement, acceptance and control. The discriminant factor between with- and without-problem group in mental health were rejection, empathy and rational authoritativeness, which explained about 79% of the whole population cases and showed statistically significant. The discriminant factor between with- and without-problem group in child behavior were encourage, flexibility and control, which explained about 72% of the whole population cases and showed statistically significant. As a results, the enhancement of parental intelligence through intervention of parent education can be evaluated with 66% of PIS items. This study has confirmed that the eight sub-factors in Parental Intelligence Scale can be used as useful information for the appropriate intervention and improvement of parent`s role.
