아리스토텔레스 인과론으로 분석한 정부 형성의 함정 = An Aristotelian Analysis of Matters and Causes for Government Formation

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study examined the matters and causes for government formation, especially by the framework of Aristotle's theory of causality. According to the results, the matters and causes, such as human resource, language, form of government, collective imposition of functions, final causes, have two features. First, all matter and causes are eliminated after ontological reduction. Nothing is left to become a source matter except the power of human consciousness. Every source matters and causes are the products of human mind and daily life human interaction. Second, it is quite difficult to control the quality of produced matters and causes. It is impossible to avoid the effect of contingent factors. People's perspective and language over a state of affairs are an accidental results. For these reasons, it is actually impossible to secure the quality of the matter and causes for government formation. Many societies are forced to face barriers to build democratic government because material and causal sources are created at the realm beyond their control. Two causes might be there to try to form a government without adequate matter and causes. First, there are political benefit for the politicians. Even though the government fail to provide promised service or solve the problem, the politician take the office by winning the election. Second, voters and researchers may have hard time coping with the problem of the matter and causal sources because of their limits of thought and language. It is not easy to understand the conflicts among the final causes. Human mind and language become a glasses that show some phases of a case much more clearly. But, at the same time, it becomes an obstacle to see other phases in terms of different perspectives. Government and policy can be made not because they have sufficient matter and justifiable reasons but because they have political benefit and epistemological misunderstandings.
