The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of Cheong and Weness on stress and coping behaviors of young children adopting a cultural psychological approach. The subjects were 48 young children aged between 5-7 who were enrolled a day-care center. The Cheong rating scale, Korean Preschool Children’s Daily Stress Scale, and Weness and Coping style questionnaire were developed and used for the collection of data. t-test, F-test, and χ2 test were used to analyze the data. The main conclusions from the study were as follows : First, there were significant differences between the gender of the young children on Cheong’s level. However, there was no significant difference between the gender on Weness. And not significant differences between the age of young children on Cheong and Weness’ level. Second, there was no significant difference in the stress of young children according to Cheong’s levels and Weness’ levels. Finally, there was no significant difference in the styles of coping behaviors of young children according to Cheong’s levels and Weness’ levels.
