Gender Division of Unpaid Work in Peru: An Analysis of the Peruvian Time Use Survey 2010

While Peru has improved in the measurement of the Global Gender Gap Index (GGI), the economic participation and opportunities sub-index is an indicator that is advancing at a very slow pace. According to the Social Development Index Model for women and men in Latin American countries, there are three dimensions to measure opportunities: access to higher education, employment, and time and management. This thesis aims to examine gender inequality in unpaid domestic and care work and how it is affected by social and cultural variables in Peru. Therefore, this research will analyze data from the time use survey applied in Peru in 2010.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

페루는 글로벌 성 격차 지수(Global Gender Gap Index, GGI) 측정에서 개선되었지만, 경제 참여 및 기회 하위 지수는 매우 느린 속도로 진행되고 있는 지표입니다. 라틴아메리카 국가의 여성과 남성을 위한 사회개발지수 모델에 따르면, 기회를 측정하는 세 가지 차원, 즉 고등교육에 대한 접근, 고용, 시간 및 관리로 나뉜다. 본 논문은 무급 가사노동과 돌봄노동에서의 성불평등과 그 실태를 살펴보는 것을 목적으로 한다
