국어 문화 교과 담론에 대한 비판적 고찰 = A Critique about the Korean Culture Subject Theory

This paper critically reviewed the Korean culture subject theory as an identity of Korean language subject. Culture theory has become one of the major theory along with the 7th National Korean Language Curriculum(NKLC). As an analysis of 2007 NKLC, culture theory is overemphasized at the statement of identity and objectives, so it failed the consistency with the contents framework and standards, which are more focused on knowledge and skills since 6th NKLC. It is needed to develop reasonable framework, give evidence of student academic achievement, and make difference with literature oriented curriculum for the culture theory to become major theory. In conclusion, the identity of NKLC should represent the direct, essential, and unique nature of Korean subject. Skills theory is the most appropriate theory in these conditions. So, skills theory should be the governing theory at the next NKLC`s identity statement.
