저소득 가정 아동 및 청소년의 비행행동에 대한 환경적 요인의 영향구조 비교 = The Effects of Environmental Systems on the Delinquency: A Comparative Study Between Children and Adolescents in Low-Income Families

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study examined the children and adolescents' delinquent behaviors, the effects of family, friends, and school systems on the delinquency, and how those systems affected the delinquent behaviors differently between children and adolescents. Data were collected from 326 children and 165 adolescents who were from low-income families residing in low-income districts in Seoul. The results of this study are: (1) the prevalences of the delinquency were not much different between children and adolescents except the status delinquency such as drinking and smoking, (2) for the children, the family factor had negative influences on the relationship with delinquent friends and the delinquent behaviors, the relationship with delinquent friends had a positive influence on the delinquent behaviors, and the relationship with teachers did not affect delinquent behaviors, (3) for the adolescents, only the relationship with delinquent friends had a positive influence on the delinquent behaviors. Suggestions and implications with regard to preventing and reducing the childhood and adolescent delinquency were discussed.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 교육복지투자우선지역의 저소득 가정 아동 326명과 청소년 165명을 대상으로 하여 이들을 둘러싼 가족체계, 또래체계, 학교체계가 아동 및 청소년의 비행행동에 영향을 미치는 과정을 밝히고, 아동과 청소년에 대한 비교를 통하여, 상기한 요인들이 비행행동에 미치는 영향이 발달단계에 따라 어떤 차이를 보이는지 검증하였다.
연구결과, 지위비행을 제외하고는 아동과 청소년의 비행행동 발생률에 차이가 없었으며, 아동의 경우 가족요인은 부정적 또래관계와 비행행동에 대하여 부적인 영향을, 교사와의 관계에 대하여 정적인 영향을 가지는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 부정적 또래관계는 비행행동에 대하여 정적인 영향을 가지는 것으로 나타났으나 교사와의 관계는 비행행동에 영향을 미치지 않았다. 이에 비해 저소득 청소년의 경우에는 부정적 또래관계만이 비행행동에 대하여 정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타나 아동과는 다른 결과를 보였다. 즉, 발달단계에 따라 개인을 둘러싼 환경 요인들이 비행행동에 미치는 영향구조가 달라지는데, 청소년기에는 가족이 더 이상 비행행동에 대한 보호요인으로 작용하지 않는 반면, 위험요인이라 할 수 있는 부정적 또래관계는 비행행동에 영향을 미치는 요인으로 여전히 중요하게 남아있음을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 결과를 근거로, 청소년 뿐 아니라 아동의 비행에 대해서도 적극적인 예방과 개입 노력을 기울일 것과 대상의 발달단계에 따라 차별화된 비행예방 및 개입전략을 수립할 것 등을 제언하였다.
