전문기자의 전문성과 뉴스의 질을 구축하는 취재보도 관행의 상관관계에 대한 분석 = 충원 경로에 따른 비교분석을 중심으로

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study explores how specialism in Korean newspaper journalism develop news quality. Particularly its focus places on specialists' newsgathering activities since the quality of news content is certainly related to production discourse such as newsgathering routines, as argued in Critical Discourse Analysis. Based on in-depth interviews of 26 journalists, including 10 specialists, it discovers that specialists' newsgathering routines, related to news sources and news value, could not guarantee critical approach even if providing efficiency in newsgathering and specialists' personality.
Firstly, specialists' news source routines reveal that specialists would have a rather monopolistic and private relationships with their sources. On the one hand tip-offs from such sources enabled to create staff enterprise In newsgathering, on the other hand they were linked to corruptive exchanges of flattering their sources in return.
Secondly, it finds that specialists would construct journalist-oriented subjective news value relying on their expertise and division of responsibility. Such news value sometimes encouraged to develop staff enterprise, since they understood it as to provide solutions to consumers' inconvenience. However, it was possibly to be biased when specialists lacked a universal viewpoint to see interrelations among social problems.
