      In the future, it will be a confirmed future that everyone is expecting that a higher level of autonomous driving technology will be applied to vehicles that are easily accessible by the general public. However, as autonomous driving technology is spread to general vehicles, opinions remain divided and uncertainty is difficult to predict as to how devices installed in existing vehicles will develop. Obviously, the application of a higher level of autonomous driving technology to a general vehicle is not simply a concept of adding new functions that were not found in existing vehicles. Some functions were present in existing vehicle systems but may be deleted, repurposed, repositioned, or integrated into other modules.

      In this paper, as the level of autonomous driving technology applied to a vehicle gradually develops, the contents of the vehicles internal interface will be discussed. In more detail, this issue will be analyzed from two viewpoints, interface change according to driving intervention level of the autonomous driving system and expected issues and solutions in the application of the autonomous driving system. And in the conclusion section, we will propose the virtual vehicle interior interface by reflecting the insights obtained through the analysis.

      In order to unambiguously study this study and to study it more densely, I would like to conclude by defining the limited research scope as follows. First of all, the main subject interested in this study is the driver. Therefore, the vehicle interface to be studied is limited to devices in a region of interest to the driver. Next, autonomous driving technology of level 4 or higher that does not require driver intervention was not considered. Accordingly, the driver must intervene in the driving of the vehicle frequently or intermittently. Lastly, factors such as the drivers recognition ability, driving ability, and operational proficiency of the driver were limited to those skilled in the degree of being able to use the vehicles infotainment system intermittently while driving.
