A Study on Object Art Based on
Waste Plastic
- Created flat installation video concentrated on
artworks of researcher-
The process of development and changes in art can be shown clearly
through art history. There are various forms of art in contemporary
art. On the other hand, the early art presents a process developed with
different majors.
Art creation includes personal idea intensely. The meaning of art
indicates that individual artists have aesthetic power to express their
own personality through artworks.
The researcher is highly interested in object among diverse art
forms. Though every object has its own use and function, if the
objects are used as object, the meaning of original use and function
disappears, which reveals unexperienced stimulation or unexpected
effects.
This study is aimed at classifying and organizing the basic concept
of object, investigating the process of development in object through
researching literature with history, changes and classification in object.
Intention of three main idea was figured out through artworks.
First, the researcher tried to find artistic material in daily life, which
showed to used waste plastic used in daily life as the main material
for artworks to present art of waste materials. It refers to plain
material with out unique characteristic we think generally to connect with elegant art.
Second, waste plastic consisting of the artworks in researcher was
chosen to find and represent memory in childhood. Waste toys and
abandoned plastic coffee cup remind of memories in early childhood,
present modern environment issue and try to share idea.
Third, the future direction of artworks in researcher will be expected
throw ideal.
The reason why plastic was selected is first, to find solution for
social environment problems in daily life.
Second, in case of contemporary art, there is no limit for art. If
materials in daily life are used for creating artworks, it will help the
public understand art.
Marvelous artworks will be created for people to understand art
easily as direction of artworks in the researcher with attention to
social problems.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

폐플라스틱 이용한 오브제 예술 연구
- 본인 작품을 중심으로 평면 설치 영상 구성함-
예술의 발전사를 따라가다 보면 예술의 발전과정과 예술의 변화를 분명
하게 볼 수 있다. 현대의 예술현장을 보면 예술의 양식들이 매우 다양하
다는 것을 알 수 있다. 반면, 발전 초기단계의 예술은 다른 계열의 전공들
과 함께 발전한 과정들이 있다.
예술 창작은 강렬하게 개인적 생각을 내포하고 있다. 예술의 매력(魅力)
은 작가마다의 작품에 독특한 개성들을 표현할 수 있다는데 미적 힘을 가
진다는 것이다.
현재 수많은 형형색색의 예술양식들 중에서 오브제는 본인에게 있어서
가장 매력적인 부분이다. 일상생활에 쓰이는 모든 물체는 그 나름의 용도
나 기능 또는 독특한 의미를 지니고 있게 마련인데, 이러한 물체가 일단
오브제로 쓰이면 그 본래의 용도나 기능은 의미를 잃게 되고 이때까지 우
리가 미처 체험하지 못했던 어떠한 연상 작용이나 묘한 효과를 얻을 수
있게 된다.
본 연구의 목적은 오브제의 역사와 변화 그리고 분류, 문헌고찰을 통해
서 오브제의 발전 조리(脉络)를 알아보고 오브제의 기본 개념을 세분화하
여 정리한다.
이에 작품을 통해서 크게 3가지의 생각의 의도를 알아보았다.
첫째, 본인은 일상생활 중에 예술성이 있는 재료를 찾고 싶은 생각을
가지고 있었다. 그래서 본인의 작품은 일반적으로 일상생활 중에 사용하
고 버려진 폐플라스틱을 이용해서 작품의 주요한 재료로 전환했다. 이것
을 통해서 폐 재료의 예술상을 제시한다. 그 중에서 우리가 보편적으로
생각하는 특이한 점이 없이 평범한 재료와 고아한 예술과의 연결성을 찾
고 제시한다.
둘째, 본인의 작품을 구성한 폐플라스틱 재료는 어린 시절의 기억들을
찾고 재현하고자하는 의도로 폐 장난감과 버려진 플라스틱 커피 잔을 이
용하여 유아기의 기억들을 회상을 유도하고 현대의 환경문제를 전달하고
사유를 공유하고자 한다.
셋째, 이상을 통해서 본인 미래의 작품방향을 예상한다.
본인의 작품에서 플라스틱을 사용한 이유는 첫째, 사회 환경문제에 대
해 생각했고 일상생활 중에서 그 해답을 찾고자 했다.
둘째, 현대예술에서 미술의 범위가 광범위하게 이루어지고 있는데, 작품
을 구상함에 있어 현실생활에서 소재를 찾아 일반사람들과 예술의 거리를
더욱 좁히고자 하였다.
미래의 작품 방향은 사회문제에 관심을 많이 가지고 사람들에게 쉽게
이해할 수 있고 아름다운 작품을 창작하고 싶다.
