지리 교과에서 학습자의 그래프 활용 특성에 관한 연구 = A study on learner`s graphic use quality in geography education

The use graph in geography subject can contribute to expansion of basic graphicacy and to development of geographical skills including collecting, organization, and analysis of information. This study investigated quality of graph in geography texbook and learners` character of using graph, discussed direction for improvement of graph material in geography textbook. The investigation results to this are as follows. First, the types of graph that are often used in geography textbook are climo graph, bar graph, and pie graph, linegraph. Though type of graph is same, concrete form of grahp and the number of variables are beryvarious. Second, we can guess that students are apt to neglect core information and meaning of graph in case that form of graph is too complex. Above all, graph of too complex form isn`t good for development of geographical skills. Therefore graph materials used in geography subject of middle school must be developed in simple form in order to show core information obviously. And it is important to make students find geographical information, understand meaning of it for themselves.
