A sensitive method for the determination of Fe(Ⅲ) after separating its nitroso-R salt and CTAB ternary complex by adsorption onto benzophenone was studied. When nitroso-R salt as a complexing agent, and cetyltrimethylammonium bromide(CTAB) as an ion-pairing agent were added to the sample solution by 15 times of moles of Fe(Ⅲ), a separation was achieved efficiently. And, the other conditions such as pH of solution, amount of benzophenone, and stirring time were optimized to 4.0, 0.15g and 40min., respectively. Under the optimum conditions, a calibration curve of Fe(Ⅲ) which had a good linearity(R^2=0.9990) was obtained over range 0.05~0.70ppm.
