A Study on the Impact of AEO Policy on Performance through Security Preparation and Planning, and Security dedicated Communication Technology

This study empirically tests the impact of the adoption of the program Authorized Economic Operator, one of security initiatives, on trading performance through two major variables which are security preparation and planning, and security dedicated communication technology. For the analysis, 211 samples were collected in the Korean trading and logistics industries.
A research model with causal relationships with variables was developed and tested based on the support of academic literature.
This study, as a confirmatory study, examines a causal research model with special emphasis on voluntary security issues in Korean companies after the tragic incident of 9/11. The result of the analysis clearly identified that adoption of AEO initiative as a security program had positive impacts on the overall trading performance of Korean companies. Companies and public entities are encouraged to identify and adopt important factors suggested in this study in terms of implementing security issues in their operation.
