`가랑비`의 명명 체계에 관한 인지언어학적 연구 = A Cognitive Linguistic Study on `Garangbi` Naming System

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The refetent ``Garangbi`` has various names depending on the time and space. If we categorize the form of the words related to ``Garangbi`` based on their meanings, it would be thin+rain, fine+rain, slender+rain, drizzling+rain, soft+rain, mist+rain, thread+rain, powdery+rain. The reason ``Garangbi`` hsa so many names is because of the variations in time, space, society, cultural factors, and the cognitive process of the public that view the referent. In this paper, an ability of distributing attention of the public and metaphor and metonymy which are the appellation mechanisms are viewed as the reason why ``Garangbi`` itself is called in diverse wats. Also, through such a cognitive process as an element of meaning of the refetent is reflected in the form of the word. Whether the form of the word is central or peripheral, elements of meaning such as ``thin``, ``small`` are reflected in the form of the word. Though there have been plentiful forms of words that named ``Garangbi`` so far, new forms of words will continuously be created due to the various demands of the public and changes in society.
