？틴 캄슨의 실재계 : 지젝식 읽기 = The Real of Quentin Compson: ？i？ekian Reading of The Sound and the Fury

This paper is an attempt to explain the nature of Quentin Compson’s the Real to widen the scope of literary approaches to The Sound and the Fury. By reading the text on the basis of ？e？ekian theory I put an emphasis on Quentin’s interpretation of Judith-Henry-Charles Bon relationship in terms of his own relationship of Caddy and Dalton Ames. Caddy, Quentin, and Dalton Ames make a triad, each taking the role of femme fatale, helpless brother, and p？re-vers, or superego. And For Quentin, Caddy is more than the object of incestuous love; a femme fatale as well as Courtly lady according to woman fantasy. That is, she is Quentin’s symptom. Quentin’s helplessness of not being a seducer, nor a defender causes a repetitive compulsion, which can partly explain uncanniness of the Real.
