교회건축물의 디자인 의사결정 요소에 대한 사용자 인식에 관한 연구 = A Study on Users’ Participation and Perception in Architectural Design of Korean Protestant Church

(Background and Purpose) Although the church architecture design is a problem for all of the protestant church building users, only architects, some pastors and church laymen have participated in the design decision process, and most of the members of the church have been neglected in this process. Therefore, this study analyzes the major decision making elements that should reflect the user's recognition in the church architecture design through the analysis of the previous research, analyzes the subjective thoughts of the members who are the users of these elements, and purpose to provide basic data that can reflect the general recognition of church architecture users about the major decision making elements of the church architecture design process. (Method) Firstly, we analyzed the major elements of decision making in the church architecture design process from the 90 's until recently by analysing previous research, and classify it into a hierarchical structure for AHP questionnaire method. Next, a total of 176 randomly selected church building users in Busan were classified into three hierarchically structured primary-level decision making elements, 10 secondary-level decision making elements, and 18 tertiary-level decision making elements conduct an AHP questionnaire method. (Results) First, the results of the analysis of higher - level decision making elements showed that users are conscious of the order of functionality-publicness-symbolism when setting direction of church architecture design. Second, the importance of sub decision making elements of functionality appeared in order of worship function-education function-service function-society function. Third, as a result of analyzing the sub decision making elements of publicness, the importance appeared in order of participating in community welfare-participating in community culture- participating in community education, and showed importance in the order of sub decision making elements of community welfare participation is local resident care-disabled care-homeless & teenage runaway care- multicultural family & north Korean defectors. Fourth, as a result of the analysis of the sub decision making elements of symbolism, it appeared that the overall building expression-image expression-partial elements expression, and subordinate element of overall building expression was modern style-symbolic style-classical style-traditional style, in the image expression elements are familiar/comfortable image-elegant/beautiful image- refined/modern image-new/fresh image-solemn/strict image order, and in the partial elements expression elements are Bible verses elements-christianity art elements-symbolic emblem elements-symbolic color elements- symbolic number elements order. (Conclusions) The significance of this study is to present the importance of each factor through the AHP questionnaire analysis method and to provide the user 's recognition to refer to the design priority among the main elements in the decision making process of the church architecture design.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

(연구배경 및 목적) 교회건축 디자인은 교회건축 사용자 모두의 문제임에도 불구하고, 지금까지 건축가와 일부 교역자, 중직자만이 참여하여 디자인 의사결정을 하여 왔으며, 대다수의 교회 구성원들은 이 과정에서 소외되었다. 따라서 본 연구는 선행연구의 분석을 통해 교회건축디자인에서 사용자의 인식이 반영되어야 하는 주요의사결정요소들을 추출하고 이 요소들에 대해 사용자인 교회 구성원들이 가지고 있는 주관적인 생각들을 분석하여 AHP설문 분석법을 통해 제시함으로서 교회건축디자인 과정의 주요의사결정요소들에 대한 교회건축 사용자의 전반적인 인식이 반영될 수 있는 기초자료를 제공하는 것을 그 목적으로 한다. (연구방법) 먼저 교회건축디자인에 대한 선행연구 분석을 통해 90년대 이후부터 최근까지 부각된 교회건축디자인 과정에서의 주요의사결정요소들을 추출하고 AHP설문을 위한 계층구조로 분류한다. 다음으로 무작위로 선정된 부산지역 교회건축 사용자 176명을 대상으로 3개의 계층구조로 분류된 3가지 상위계층 의사결정요소, 10가지 2차 계층 의사결정요소 및 18가지 3차 계층 의사결정요소에 대한 AHP설문을 시행한다. 회수된 설문지의 응답내용을 분석하여 각 계층 의사결정요소들 사이의 우선순위와 중요도 값(가중치)을 구하고 이를 통해 교회건축디자인에서 주요의사결정요소에 대한 사용자의 인식을 알아본다. (결과) 첫째, 상위 계층 의사결정요소 분석결과 사용자들은 교회건축디자인의 방향설정 시 기능성-공공성-상징성의 순서로 중요하게 인식하고 있는 것으로 나타났고, 외형보다는 본질에 충실한 것이 교회건축디자인의 방향설정에 중요하다고 인식하였다. 둘째, 기능성의 하위요소 중요도는 예배 기능-교육 기능-봉사 기능-교제 기능의 순서로 나타났고, 예배 기능이 나머지 3개 요소 전체 합과 비슷할 정도로 중요하다고 인식하고 있었다. 셋째, 공공성의 하위요소 분석결과, 지역사회 복지참여-지역사회 문화참여-지역사회 교육참여의 순서로 중요도가 나타났고, 이 중 지역사회 복지참여 요소의 하위요소는 지역주민 배려-장애인 배려-노숙인․가출청소년 배려-다문화․탈북자 배려의 순서로 중요하다고 인식하였다. 넷째, 상징성의 하위요소 분석결과, 교회 건물 전체로 표현-이미지로 표현-부분요소로 표현의 순서로 중요한 것으로 나타났고, 교회 건물 전체로 표현 요소의 하위요소는 현대적인 표현-상징적인 표현-고전적인 표현-전통적인 표현의 순서로, 이미지로 표현 요소는 친숙한/ 편안한 이미지-우아한/ 아름다운 이미지-세련된/ 현대적인 이미지-새로운/ 신선한 이미지-엄숙한/ 엄격한 이미지의 순서로, 부분요소로 표현은 성경구절-상징문양-성화-상징색채-상징 수의 순서로 나타났다. (결론) AHP설문 분석법을 통해 각 요소별 중요도 값을 제시하여 교회건축디자인 의사결정과정에서 주요 요소들 간의 디자인 우선순위 설정에 참고할 수 있는 사용자의 인식 특성을 제공했다는 것에 본 연구의 의의를 둔다.
