문학 공간의 매체적 확장과 문학교육 - 네이버웹툰 <호랑신랑뎐> 100화와 댓글을 중심으로 = The Media Expansion of Literary Space and Literary Education: Focusing on Episode 100 of Horangsinlangdyeon and Its Reader Comments

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 디지털 매체 환경에서 문학성이 어떻게 지속되고 변주되는지를 밝히고, 이를 바탕으로 문학 공간의 매체적 확장 가능성과 문학교육적 함의를 탐색한다. 네이버웹툰 <호랑신랑뎐> 100화를 분석하여, 웹툰의 담화 방식에 따라 변주된 서사 문법이 독자의 몰입과 거리두기를 조절하는 서사 시학적 효과를 보인다는 점을 밝혔다. 또한 문학적 소통 이론을 바탕으로 댓글을 분석하여 독자들은 이야기와 담화에 대한 인식을 주제로 소통하고 있으며, 다양한 대상과 소통하며 해석 공동체를 형성하고 있음을 밝혔다. 이 연구는 본 디지털 매체 환경에서 문학성이 어떻게 지속되고 변주되는지, 그리고 웹툰 독서 현장에서 문학적 소통이 어떠한 방식으로 작동하는지를 밝힘으로써, 문학교육이 ‘문학 텍스트’ 중심의 교육을 넘어 ‘문학성’ 중심의 교육으로 확장될 수 있음을 제안한다. 학습자는 일상 속 다양한 디지털 텍스트에서 문학적 경험을 인식하고 재구성함으로써 문학의 인식적·미적·윤리적 가치를 폭넓게 수행할 수 있으며, 이는 문학교육에서 디지털 텍스트와 문학 읽기를 통합적으로 재구성할 수 있을 것이다.

This study investigates how literariness persists and is transformed within digital media environments, and explores the media-based expansion of literary space and its pedagogical implications. Through an analysis of Episode 100 of the Naver Webtoon Horangi Sinlangdyeon, the study demonstrates that the webtoon’s distinctive discourse strategies reshape traditional narrative grammar and regulate readers’ immersion and distancing, producing specific narratological effects. In addition, an examination of reader comments based on literary communication theory reveals that readers communicate about their perceptions of story and discourse, interact with various participants, and construct interpretive communities. By clarifying how literariness is sustained and reconfigured in digital media, and how literary communication operates in webtoon reading contexts, this study proposes a shift in literature education from a focus on “literary texts” to a focus on “literariness.” Such a perspective enables learners to recognize and reconstruct literary experiences embedded in everyday digital texts, thereby engaging more fully with the cognitive, aesthetic, and ethical values of literature. This, in turn, suggests the need to integrate digital texts and literary reading more systematically within literature education.
