번역된 일본 제국주의 교육정책 -“보통학교직원 수지요강”에 대하여 = Translated Japanese Imperialistic Education Policy -About “The Doctrinal Outline of Common School Employees”(普通學校職員須知要綱)

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The main reference of this essay is “The Doctrinal Outline of Common School Employees”, bound in “The Purport of Old Textbooks.”(舊敎科書趣意) The latter is binding several copies published by Joseon Government General and Korean Empire`s education ministry(學部). Title and binder`s name, Gim Du-Won(金斗元) are written by a brush in the front cover of “The Purport of Old Textbooks.” “The Doctrinal Outline of Common School Employees” is the compile of Dawara Magoichi(俵孫一)`s speeches. As the vice-minister of education ministry in Residency-General, his speeches are the primal references to estimate Japanese imperialistic education policy and the writing style of Japanese imperial bureaucrats. Interestingly enough Dawara`s speech is translated by rubi(ルビ) written in Korean and Chinese letters. Therefore it has two issues for Korean Studies; 1st the context of its circulation to Common School`s Korean employees; 2nd translation through rubi, shows the difference between Korean, Japanese in early modern. I review the phase of its translation and attempt comparative research between it and Korean Empire`s education ministry`s instructions, representative references of educational movement in modern enlightenment era. As a result, I present the violent pillage of Korean Empire`s private schools sealed in Dawara`s speech. Also I present that the writing style of Dawara, the representative imperial bureaucrat, is inappropriate for modern administration.
