It is considered that the development of effective policy and service for re-conviction prevention is an important subject, as adolescent offense, sexual re-conviction during probation period, and the rise of adolescent offenders in correctional facilities have been increasing since 2005 in Korea. However the existing intervention programs for adolescent re-conviction prevention are not enough to evaluate the program effectiveness because of shortage of data accumulation. Therefore this research attempted to find the suggestions to apply in the development of effective policy and service for adolescent re-conviction prevention, by the analyses of theoretical bases, measurement methods of program effectiveness for re-conviction prevention programs for adolescents on probation or in correctional facilities. The findings suggested that family therapy, parenting education programs focused on familial relationship recovery as well as adolescent``s rehabilitation played an important role to reduce re-conviction. It was also suggested that it would be needed to develop the community-based rehabilitation programs in association with local welfare organizations and to conduct case management services for re-integration into society. Further, it was found that individualized, focused, and integrative programs including cognitive-behavior approach, considering of psychological, emotional familial characteristics, were effective on re-conviction prevention among adolescent offenders.
