East Asia has suffered from severe air quality with the largest pollutants emissions, which causes great concern for environmental health. Despite the international cooperation programs during two decades, the cooperation has not been successful due in part that differences in political standpoints and due in part to lacking of coordination capacity for the programs. The enhanced coordination will be essential for the facilitating dialogues among stakeholder that can lead to an international agreement. Also, there should be the framework that can cover comprehensive agenda including energy efficiency and conversion from coal consumption to cleaner or renewable energy sources. Thus, the technology transfer of green technology by promoting mutual benefit in East Asia could be one of the most important and efficient ways to mitigate air pollution in East Asia because the agreement among the scientific communities will take significant time. Therefore, it is necessary to make more efficient and active dialogue among summit to boost East Asian cooperation that can make the market system to facilitate green technology transfer.
