중국 서남 지역의 재정지출과 경제성장 = Fiscal Expenditure and Economic Growth in China's Southwestern

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 최근 거점으로 부상하고 있으며, 향후 한국 기업의 진출 가능성이 있는 중국 서남 지역을 대상으로 재정지출과 경제성장 간의 관계를 분석했다. 분석자료는 2003년부터 2022년까지의 기간을 대상으로 중국 서남 지역의 패널 데이터를 구축했으며, 패널 단위근 검정 및 패널 공적분 검정을 통하여 변수의 안정성과 장기균형을 확인했다. 주요 분석은 패널 ARDL-PMG 추정 방법을 사용했으며, 추가로 ECM 결과를 통해 조정속도를 나타냈다. 결과적으로 중국 서남 지역에서는 재정지출과 경제성장 간의 양방향 인과관계가 나타났다. 이는 재정지출이 단기적 경기 대응을 넘어 장기적인 성장 기반에도 주요 역할을 하고 있음을 보여주는 결과이다.

This study analyzes the relationship between fiscal expenditure and economic growth in Southwest China, a region that has recently emerged as a new growth hub with potential opportunities for Korean firms. Using panel data from 2003 to 2022, the study conducts panel unit root and cointegration tests to verify the stability of variables and the existence of a long-term equilibrium relationship. The analysis employs the panel ARDL model with the Pooled Mean Group (PMG) estimator, and additionally examines the adjustment speed through the Error Correction Model (ECM) results. The empirical findings reveal a bidirectional causal relationship between fiscal expenditure and economic growth in Southwest China, suggesting that fiscal expenditure plays a significant role not only as a short-term stabilization policy instrument but also in establishing a long-term foundation for economic growth.
