폭력과 트라우마 이미지와 봄의 문제: 현대 트라우마 이론을 중심으로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구는 폭력과 트라우마 이미지로 포화 상태가 된 현대 시각미디어 문화에서 트라우마를 시청하고 인식하는 방편을 검토한다. 그런데 지금까지 트라우마 재현에 대한 연구는 트라우마를 정확하고 직접적으로 전송하고 재현하는 데만 치중되어왔기 때문에 전방위에서 폭발적으로 쏟아지는 트라우마 이미지들의 시청과 지각의 방법을 다각도로 포섭하는 데 한계가 있다. 이에 본 연구는 기존의 트라우마 이론을 비평적으로 검토하고 현대 미디어 문화에서 트라우마를 경험하는 창조적인 방편을 제시한다. 그 작업을 위해서 본 연구는 조슈아 허쉬의 “외상후 트라우마 영화”개념을 끌어들여서 트라우마적 경험을 전송하고 인식하는 대안적인 방편의 모델을 제시한다. 그리고 그 대안적인 모델의 전략을 잘 구현하는 예로 영화, <그르바비차: 내 꿈의 땅>을 구체적으로 분석한다.

The aim of this study is to critique current trauma theory and to explore other ways to portray traumatic experiences in modern visual media saturated with violent and traumatic images. As an alternative strategy, the discussion draws on Joshua Hirsch's notion of "post-traumatic cinema" and suggests possible direction for transmitting and perceiving traumatic experiences through an analysis of the film, <Grbavica: Land of My Dream>, which presents an example of the strategy.
