경찰이미지 연구를 위한 이론적 모색 = Theoretical Framework for study on image of the police

국문 초록 (Abstract)

  경찰은 국가의 어떤 조직보다 국민들과 직접접촉이 많고 다양한 형태를 띄기에 이미지 제고 문제는 더욱 절실하다. 국민의 경찰에 대한 이미지 제고는 여러면에 걸쳐 경찰조직에 영향을 미친다. 우선 경찰에 지원하는 인력의 질적인 재선이 이루어지고, 직원의 사기 앙양 및 조직몰입이 더욱 높아질 것이다. 이와 함께 경찰활동에 국민들의 많은 협조를 받을 수 있어 업무수행에도 긍정적 영향을 미칠 것이다.<BR>  그런데 경찰이미지 관련해서는 아직 이렇다 할 연구성과가 없는 실정이다. 따라서 경찰이미지를 연구하기 위해 오래전부터 풍부한 연구성과를 측적해 온 조직 및 기업이미지 이론들을 경찰이미지에 접목시킬 필요가 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 조직 및 기업이미지 이론들을 경찰이미지 연구에 접목시킬 수 있는지, 경찰이미지 영향요인들은 무엇이며 방법론들은 어떠한 것들이 있는지를 검토하였다. 경찰이미지 영향요인의 부분적인 수정을 거쳐 기업이미지의 이론적 틀을 경찰이미지 연구에 적용 가능한다고 보았다. 따라서 경찰이미지 연구를 위한 독립변수를 경찰과의 직접접촉과 간접접촉으로 나누고 직접접촉은 접촉모델을 적용하여 하위변수를 선정하고, 간접접촉은 개인간 커뮤니케이션과 매스미디어로 나누어 그 하위변수들을 설정하고 종속변수는 경찰의 이미지로 설정하는 이론적 틀을 제시한다.

  With the growing of image in modern society, business has made steady efforts to improve their image as a marketing strategy, Such efforts to improve image have not been limited to businesses, but the state and public agencies have also made such efforts in a way to win trade competitions with their trading partners and improve image to the general pu blic,<BR>  Improvement of image is badly needed for the police as well, as it should have contacts in diverse forms with people more than any agencies and the image it gives to the general public has much influence on the service of the police in many ways, Image improvement of the police will lead, first of all, to the increase of superior human resources that apply for the admission to the police, It will also lead people to willingly cooperate with policing, thus helping the police to perform its duties efficiently,<BR>  To study on the image of the police, v.re should first review studies on the image conducted by other agencies and businesses, as few studies on the image of the police has not teen conducted to date,<BR>  In response to such conditions, this study is intended to consider how the result of studies on image by other agencies and businesses can be apply to the study on image of the police and based on the consideration, to build a theoretical framework for study on image of the police.
