표준체코어의 기능적 층위에 대한 분석

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

There are different approaches in the Czech linguistics toward the contemporary Czech language situation in which the strained relation between standard form and nonstandard form of language exists. The contrastive attitudes of them aim at the cultivation of standard language, however the one substantially intends to expand a standard language and the other asserts its protection against nonstandard language elements. The former is an attempt to make up for a deficit of the standard Czech originated from 19c’s artificial codification through its expansion into the Czech society. Ultimately it argues to relieve the rigid norms of standard Czech language. The latter, however, claims not to ease the norms if it is weaker at this point of time when the influence of nonstandard common Czech increases rapidly in the spoken sphere. This could be based
on consideration that culturally low graded elements are able to threat colloquial form of standard Czech.
This paper inquiries the stratification structure of contemporary Czech and explains characteristics of its variants in hierarchical structure based on Czech language data. After all it reveals the mechanism in which three variants of standard Czech work each other in the hierarchy. We expect that the discussion in this paper will provide on what grounds Czech linguistics interprets the concept of standard language to a certain extent
liberally.
