영문초록 : Conducted on high school girls in Seoul whose trends to use cosmetic products are on the rise, this research surveyed how they think about make-up and what colors of cosmetics they like. The research also took a look at the differences between the colors in high school girls and those in the twenties and thirties prefer respectively when putting make-up. The subjects of this research were 373 high school girls living in Seoul and 65 women in ages of 25 to 35, and data analysis was done as a means of questionnaires. The questionnaire has 47 questions, and data collected was analyzed through SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Science) program. ?² (Chi-square) examination was also used to see the color preference of teenagers and women in their twenties and thirties. The results of this study can be summed up as follows. High school girls tend to think that putting on make-up in their teens isn't good but have much interest in make-up. And it was discovered that high school girls have the most interest in their skin and eye make-up. In regard to the color high school girls choose when they buy cosmetic products, the color they match, the color they like, and the color in demand are in order of their purchase. And the color of the hue cosmetics high school girls like the most is pinkish regardless of the kinds of the cosmetic products. Interestingly, though, the colors they like even among the same pinkish colors are distinctly different according the kinds of cosmetic products and seasons. In the color preference of teenagers and women in their twenties and thirties when choosing hue cosmetic products, ?² examination produced the result that among the two age groups, the difference in the colors of eye shadow in spring and winter, and the difference in nail colors in summer, fall, and winter figure prominently. As a result, it seems profitable to develop cosmetic products of eye shadow and nail color solely for teenagers in spring or winter. Given the research results and the fact that teenagers are taking up a bigger share of the cosmetics market, it is seen as important to develop cosmetic products and set up marketing strategies targeted at teenagers including high school girls who are emerging rapidly as new primary consumers
