사회문화적 아픔이 유발한 이동 - 치유를 목적으로 서울 한양도성을 걷고 있는 도시민을 대상으로 -

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

: This paper focuses on citizens’ displacement of places for healing and relaxation, which is induced by sociocultural illness. The author proposes a new concept called sociocultural illness-induced displacement (sociocultural IID). The previous studies have looked into therapeutic mobilities, while relatively few have done into micro- and short-term processes of displacement induced by illness before therapeutic mobilities. Therefore, this paper attempts to answer a following research question with a frame of sociocultural IID: “How does sociocultural illness contribute to induce displacement?” The research purpose is to observe the illness of citizens walking along Seoul City Wall for healing, and the patterns of displacement induced by the illness. The research results can be summarized into three patterns of sociocultural IID: (1) displacement of citizens with physical pain as a surviving strategy, (2) displacement of citizens with career stress as a lifestyle shift, and (3) displacement of citizens with work-related stress as moving to niche in busy daily life. These results imply that illness induces displacement by stimulating citizens’ instincts in order to live a healthy life in a competitive city.
