This research has been done to verify the user's performance of the virtual university system. To do this research, the characteristics of system and users were selected and these factors were implemented in the various manners to verify the performance of the users who were enrolling in virtual universities.
This thesis researcher tried to enhance understanding about the system of virtual university through showing the relationship among variables used to evaluate performance and theoretical basis. This thesis researcher did empirically verified the relationships among variables such as the relationship between the system characteristics and the user characteristics and the relationship between the user characteristics and user performance.
This these researcher selected several variables to evaluate the performance of users who are using virtual university's system.
Based on these selected variables, the researcher implied existing successful information system to virtual university system. This these reviewed the existing theories related to the quality of system, the characteristics of users, and the performance of users. From the review, the researcher verified the performance model empirically.
To summarize the process of research, the researcher established the performance structure model and research model and hypothesis to verify the effect on each path.
To complete the research, questionnaires were distributed through the internet to the students attending virtual university system and collected proper 231 questionnaires. Covariance Structural Analysis was used as a statistical method and the SPSS/PC+(V7.5) and Amos(V3.61) were used as statistical programs to analyze the data.
HYPOTHESIS 1. About the system qualities of virtual university
1-1. The system qualities of virtual university will influence positively on the frequency of using the system of virtual university.
1-2. The system qualities of virtual university will influence positively on the degree of user's satisfaction of the system of virtual university.
According to the result of hypothesis 1, hypothesis 1-1 shows that the system qualities of virtual university influence positively on the frequency of using the system of virtual university. That is because the path number is γ_(11)=0.833, and the path number is the causal relationship between system quality and the frequency of using the system.
According to the result of hypothesis 1-2 shows that the system qualities of virtual university influence positively on the satisfaction of the system users. That is because the path number is γ_(21)=0.847, and the path number is the causal relationship between system quality and the frequency of using the system.
From the result of analysis, the researcher could expect that the higher the characteristics of system, the higher the satisfaction of users. The characteristic variables of system are appropriateness, interaction, accessibility, differentiation, availability, which decide the quality of system accordance with objective, timeliness, convenience.
HYPOTHESIS 2. About the characteristics of system users
2-1. The frequency of using system influences on the positive performance of system users.
2-2. The satisfaction degree of system users influences on the positive performance of system users.
The result of hypothesis 2-1 shows that the value of β_(31) is 0.912. This result means that the frequency of using system positively influence on the personal performance. This means various interesting programs are necessary to enhance the interest and motivation of students attending at a virtual university.
The result of hypothesis 2-2 shows that the value of β_(32) is 0.065. This result means that the frequency of using system positively influence on the personal performance. This implies that the effectiveness of learning can be maximized by satisfying students with the content of electronic lecture, the efficiency of system, timeliness, accessability, and availability of lecture.
