      This paper reveals the intention and organic operation that record venues through the analysis of Confucius’ ‘Under the Big Tree’ event and ‘Pu(蒲)’ event in Kongzishijia(孔子世家) of Shiji(史記). The reason why Sima Qian(司馬遷) focused on recording Confucius’s space of activity was to visualize Confucian ideas and draw reflection through the place where Confucius stayed. It embodies and interprets the abstract concept of Confucianism through the symbolism of Confucius’ specific place of activity. First, Sima Qian(司馬遷) believed that the event Under the Big Tree was a humiliating event that derogated from Confucius’ Philosophy of education, so recorded the place where Confucius taught: ‘Under the Bing Tree’. Through this, he explained the process of the event. As a result, the everyday space Under the Big Tree, which is commonly encountered, is related to Confucius and has been specially established as an educational space for Confucianism, and this contributes to the formation of Xingtan(杏壇), a symbol of Confucian education in the future. Next, this paper examines the narrative intention of Sima Qian(司馬遷)’s designation of ‘Pu(蒲)’, a rare place name in other documents, to record events related to it. Above all, Sima Qian(司馬遷) wanted to reveal that the place ‘Pu(蒲)’ was a geopolitical hub, which revealed the situation at that time when Confucius visted around the other countries. Basically, Sima Qian(司馬遷) believed that the comprehensive operation of the Han(漢) Empire needed information of regional diversity, so he hoped that Kongzishijia(孔子世家) would reflect the same local information as Huozhiliezhuan(貨殖列傳). Based on this, he described that Confucius expressed his Political philosophy based on the human geography information he had experienced. For this reason, Sima Qian(司馬遷) fully described the suffering of Confucius in the area of ‘Pu(蒲)’.
