한일 전통사상과 '천(天)' 관념의 변용 = '천(天)' 관념의 변용에서 보이는 한일 양국의 근대 내셔널리즘의 특징

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 논문은 한일 양국의 전근대에서 근대로의 이행기에 보이는 '천(天)' 관념의 변용에 주목하여, 전통사상인 유학과 근대 내셔널리즘의 관계를 고찰하고 이와 더불어 양국의 근대 내셔널리즘의 특징을 개관하고자 한다. 구체적으로 본 논문은 '조선 주자학의 강한 영향하에 전개된 일본주자학'이라는 종래의 통설에 대해, 특히 '천(天)' 관념에 대한 해석의 공통점과 차이점에 초점을 맞추어 재검토하여, 조선유학과 일본유학이 각각 독자적으로 전개되었다는 점, 그리고 그것이 양국의 근대 내셔널리즘의 형성에 커다란 영향을 미쳤다는 점을 보여주고자 한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Focusing on the change of '天 Heaven' idea in the late 19th and the early 20th centuries, this study purposes to examine the relationship between traditional Confucius thoughts and modem nationalism in Korea and Japan. Specifically, criticizing the widely-accepted argument that Japanese Confucianism developed under the influence of Korean Confucianism, this study will show, on the basis of the reexamination of '天 Heaven' idea, that Japanese Confucianism and Korean Confucianism developed independently. In so doing, this study will reveal that the difference in the interpretation of '天 Heaven' idea during this period led to different nationalism in Korea and Japan.
