As it is well known, TEM horns are antennas that can achieve wideband characteristics over multiple decades. This special characteristic of these antennas makes antenna designers attaractive for designing an ultra-wide-band antenna. An ultra-wide-band antenna based on a coaxial feed structure, an axial symmetry aperture and a volcano configuration was designed and manufactured and its properties were analyzed and measured. The design was based on the graphical field mapping using a curvilinear rectangular fitting. Simulation and measured data showed its ultra-wide-band features, a low voltage standing-wave ratio over a bandwidth ratio greater than 30:1.
