시사만화에 나타난 이미지 은유의 양상과 의미 특성 = Aspects of Image Metaphor and Their Meaning Properties Representation in Current Cartoons

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this paper is to reveal aspects of image metaphors and their meaning properties representation in Korean political current cartoons. Additionally in this analysing process, examines to some characteristics for president or politicians of the party, a government-related organization, an enterprise by image metaphor. The results of this study are as fellow: First, image metaphor in the cartoons including the gestalt structure its image text and linguistic text. Second image metaphor in the cartoons is realized mostly by conceptual blending into the conceptual integration network: materialization of abstract concept, imagination of size, scale and quantity about the political events or situations. In brief, image metaphors exert a particularly powerful influence on the mapping of two domains which creates more vivid and strong image, thereby resulting in clearer and better understanding of an unfamiliar concept.
