21세기 목회상담에서의 변화의 역동성에 관한 연구 = The Dynamics of Change in Pastoral Counseling in the 21st Century.

A quantum leap in scientific and technological development brought the change in social structure. And the coming of Postmodernism in the human society brought a sense of great confusion. The essence of Postmodernism is the denial of truth, hyper-consumerism, de-traditionalization, and moral spinout. As a result the human personality is desolated and spirituality is drying out. On this earth, there are so many wars, natural disasters, strives between religions and tribes. Therefore, the human races face so many troubles and were put into crises. In this article the dynamics of change in Pastoral Counseling was examined. The nature of Pastoral counseling in Postmodern society was concluded as first, with spiritual dimension, second, for the experience of God``s presence (being with) through the empathic listening, and third, with storytelling method. The dynamics of change was studied: Change can occur with non-critical atmosphere, and only when the counselee feels the necessity of change and as a result only when the counselee willingly and voluntarily determine to stand up for the change. Change can occur when counselor and counselee meet in equality of being human and have equi-human address. Change was viewed as a work of Holy Spirit. In the process of change, counselor works as a catalyst of change not the subject of change. Change can be vitalized with the objective realism which includes the capacity of unhindered receptivity, pure discernment, and creativity. Change also occur with a new perspective which is the perspective of faith and theology at the core of which the understanding of the meaning of cross and resurrection. Also there is therapeutic impact of God-image that is, as parents, redeemer, Savior, and soul friend. Therefore, pastoral counseling has to examine the personal life story in the perspective of God-image and find out if there is any distortion or dysfunction of faith, and reframe the whole data and the meaning of information to provide vision and hope.
