The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of Cordyceps on diabetic rats using meta analysis. In this particular fixed effect model of mean difference, body weight and thymus weight were significantly increased. Cholesterol and blood glucose were also significantly decreased in the Cordyceps treated group. In this case of heterogeneous variable such as triglyceride, kidney weight and blood glucose, random effect model was applied. In this specific model of mean difference, triglyceride and blood glucose were relatively decreased in Cordyceps treated group. According to the meta regression analysis, amount of injection was significant for triglyceride and blood glucose.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

메타분석은 각각 독립적으로 시행된 연구의 결과들을 하나의 합리적인 결과로 정리해주는 통계적 방법으로 본 연구는 이러한 메타분석을 이용하여 동충하초 추출액을 투여한 당뇨유발 쥐들의 각 기관의 무게, 혈액 내 혈당량 등의 평균 비교를 통해 동충하초의 항 당뇨 효과에 대해 알아보고자 하였다. 평균차(Mean-Difference)의 경우, 고정효과모형에서는 9개의 관심변수 중 체중의 증가, 콜레스테롤의 감소, 흉선의 무게의 증가, 혈액 내 혈당량의 감소에 유의한 효과를 보였고 동질성검정을 통해 이질성을 나타낸 트리글리세리드의 농도, 신장의 무게, 혈액 내 혈당량에 대해 랜덤효과모형을 적용한 결과, 혈액 내 혈당량의 감소에 있어서 동충하초가 유의한 효과를 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 동충하초 추출액의 투여기간과 투여량에 대한 메타회귀분석을 실시한 결과, 트리글리세리드의 농도와 혈액 내 혈당량에 대해 동충하초 추출액의 투여량이 유의한 변수로 나타났다.
