The purpose of this study is to present measures to improve the training attitude and performance of middle school soccer players, and to provide basic data for parental involvement to become effective in middle school soccer players. In other words, the main purpose of this study is to investigate how parental involvement affects the training attitude and performance of middle school soccer players, and to increase the importance and value of parental involvement to middle school soccer players.
As the subject of this study, 165 copies of the questionnaire were distributed among soccer players from four middle schools in southern Gyeonggi Province registered with the KFA Korean Football Association. Of these, 161 copies were collected, excluding four copies of the unfaithful questionnaire, and the collected data were statistically analyzed using the SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) WIN 25.0 program. Frequency Analysis, Validity Analysis, Descriptive Statistical Analysis, Independent-Samples t-test, Scheffe post-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's Correlation Analysis, and Multi Regression Analysis were performed. The following results were derived through these research methods, procedures, and processes.
First, parental involvement was related to grade and prize performance, which are the general characteristics of middle school soccer players, but did not affect their position. Therefore, it was found that among the parent involvement and sub-factors of middle school soccer players, the creation of a practice environment, child exercise support, and parental child attachment showed partially significant differences.
Second, in terms of the overall characteristics of middle school soccer players, the third-fourth place was the highest, and the statistically significant difference was found in the order of championship, runner-up, and quarter-finals or less. The higher the prize performance, the more statistically significant difference was found in the activeness, responsibility, and patience among the sub-factors of the training attitude of middle school soccer players.
Third, there was a statistically significant difference in the balance of challenges and skills among the performance and sub-factors of middle school soccer players according to the general characteristics of middle school soccer players (grade, prize, position), and there was no statistically significant difference in specific feedback and self-purpose experience, which are sub-factors of performance.
Fourth, it was found that there was a positive (+) correlation between parental involvement and the training attitude and performance of middle school soccer players. It can be seen that the higher the parental involvement, the higher the training attitude and performance of middle school soccer players.
Fifth, when examining the effect of parental involvement on the training attitude and performance of middle school soccer players, it was found that the attachment of parents and the creation of a practice environment had a positive (+) effect on the training attitude of middle school soccer players. It can be seen that the higher the attachment of parents and the creation of a practice environment, which are sub-factors of parental involvement, the higher the activity, responsibility, and patience of the training attitude of middle school soccer players.
Sixth, it was found that the creation of a practice environment, support for children's exercise, and attachment to parents and children among parental involvement had a positive (+) effect on performance. In other words, the higher the creation of a practice environment, support for children's exercise, and attachment to parents' children among parental involvement, the higher the performance of middle school soccer players.
