불교와 사회관계 정립을 위한 제관점 분석 = Analysis of different views for the establishment of relationship between Buddhism and society

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Since the early Buddhist era to modern, social contribution and political participation of Buddhism was a very important concern. Because political and social change has had a significant impact to the existence and development of Buddhism. In the past world history, We can find a variety of cases how did it affect in Buddhism that the change of religious faith in the ruling class. In this study, I analyzed the sermon of the Buddha, a Mahayana Buddhist perspective, and the perspective of society in modern Korea on the social and political participation of Buddhist community. Buddhist point of view of political participation is mixed for the active participation, limited participation, and the opposite. In the multicultural, multi-religious society, political participation of temples and monks are a lot more dangerous. Because it can be a party to the political conflict. On the other hand, Buddhism can not ignore the social suffering, and also not indifferent to social reality. In the context of korean buddhism, it is the time to try to focusing on practice asceticism and propaganda, and to strengthen the internal capacity.
