The purpose of this study is to examine the differences of sport confidence formation factors according to sex, academic background and the reason why one started to table tennis.
The subject players for this study consist of 150 high school student players(75 male, 75 female), 86 college student players (42 male, 44 female) and professional players(33 male, 31 female) total 300 players.
T-test, one-way ANOVA and Scheffe's multiple range test are employed to examine the differences of sport confidence formation factors of table tennis players and the results are as follows.
First, the sport confidence formation factors according to sex have meaningful differences on the factors of task proficiency, ability demonstration and indirect experience.
Second, the sport confidence formation factors according to academic background have meaningful differences on the factors of task proficiency, ability demonstration, physical/mental preparation, social support and coach's leadership.
Third, the sport confidence formation factors according to the reason why one started to table tennis have meaningful difference on the coach's leadership factor only.
