The study analyzed the transition of the zoning ordinance to provide the basis for establishing the criteria of the zoning ordinance in Japan which is anticipated to be succeeded in revision of the urban Planning Law and the Architectural Ordinance in 1992. The study reviewed the incipient overall trends, and transition.
Chapter two deals with the contents and transition of the Urban Plannin Law and the Architectural Ordinance that are the higher Codes of the Zoning Ordinances, and with their relations to the criteria of the Zoning Ordinance. Chapter three includes the major contents, transition of National Criteria associated with zonings. What this study concerned are the Law and the Ordinance during 1919 through 1993.
