    Recently not only the cases of violence at school have been continuously increased but also the degree of school violence has been more outrageous, and the form of it has been more organized and more mobbish. It is very important to understand parents` perception of school violence to prevent it in that the role of parents or home environment is highly related to violence at school. Therefore, this study accesses how parents` perception and previous experience of school violence affect their optimistic bias, a health psychology theory, to violence at school. The results indicate that Korean parents tend to have optimistic bias to violence at school. For instance, parents who have highwho h-ester are more liko y to be optimistic to school violence than those who have low ho h-ester are. Moreover, parents who previously experienced school violence tend to have more optimistic bias than those who did not experienced school violence do. Findings show that parents should participate in school violence prevention campaign with students, especially, parents who have high self-esteem and did not previously experienced school violence do more.

It is very important to understand parents` perception of school violence to prevent it in that the role of parents or home environment is highly related to violence at school.
