복지에 대한 정부역할 인식의 비교분석 = The changes of public attitude to welfare state

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this paper is to examine the changes of public attitude to welfare state in Korea. For last 30 years, Korean welfare system has rapidly expanded. Institutionalists argue that institutions affect on attitudes. If we accept this arguments, we might expect that the welfare attitude of Koreans has been changed to support welfare state expansion. Using data from the International Social Survey Program modules on ``The Role of Government`` 2006, attitudes towards government responsibilities to various welfare programs are compared between Korea and 7 other countries. Also the results of Korea are compared to those of 1980`s and 1990`s. The results show that the welfare attitude of Koreans has been changed to pro welfare state. This provide some support for the attitude forming effects of institutions.
