An automated system for manufacturing the silicon tubes that have a constant diameter and regular shape is introduced. This task is fully automated by controlling two motors. The control action is determined by the signals frog the sensor group and the tube image frog the camera. The controlling procedure is broken three logical steps. First, an image of the tube is captured by one camera. Second, the diameter is estimated with the image processing technique. Finally, the diameter of the tube must be maintained between the desired levels. The simplified control task improves a reliability in producing the tube with a good precision. The expert not shows the control capability for the constant diameter of the tube is very satisfactory.
