아동기에 경험한 정서적 학대와 성인기 경계선 성격장애 성향의 관계: 정서인식의 명확성과 경험적 회피의 매개효과 = The Relationship between Emotional Abuse and Borderline Personality Disorder Traits: Mediating Effects of Emotional Clarity and Experiential Avoidance

The purpose of this study was to identify the relation among emotional abuse, borderline personality disorder traits, emotional clarity and experiential avoidance. The data of 578 adults (ages 20-39) were analyzed. The results of structural equation modeling indicates that all the paths to borderline personality disorder traits were significant except for the one from emotional clarity to borderline personality disorder traits. Between emotional abuse and borderline personality disorder traits, experiential avoidance served as a mediator. Also, the dual-mediated effect of emotional clarity and experiential avoidance was significant. This study implied the importance of addressing both emotional clarity and experiential avoidance in developing intervention programs for those with borderline personality disorder traits. The importance of reducing childhood emotional abuse was further emphasized.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 아동기에 경험한 정서적 학대와 성인기 경계선 성격장애 성향, 정서인식의 명확성, 그리고 경험적 회피 간의 구조적 관계를 알아보기 위한 것이다. 이를 위해 서울, 경기 지역에 거주하는 20∼39세 남녀 689명을 대상으로 정서적 학대 척도, 경계선 성격장애 척도, 한국판 특성 초기분척도, 수용 행동 질문지를 실시하였으며, 이 중 578명의 자료를 사용하여 구조방정식 모형 분석 및 매개효과 검증을 실시하였다. 구조방정식 분석 결과 정서인식의 명확성에서 성인기 경계선 성격장애 성향으로 가는 경로를 제외한 모든 경로가 유의미한 것으로 나타났다. 매개효과 검증 결과 아동기에 경험한 정서적 학대와 성인기 경계선 성격장애 성향 사이에서 경험적 회피의 단순매개효과 뿐 아니라, 정서인식의 명확성과 경험적 회피를 순차적으로 거쳐 성인기 경계선 성격장애 성향에 영향을 미치게 되는 이중매개효과 역시 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로, 경계선 성격장애 성향을 보이고 있는 성인들을 위한 효과적 개입전략을 논의하였다.
