대학 교양교육에서 환경교육 내실화를 위한 강좌 개발 및 적용 실행 연구

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구는 대학에서 실시되는 교양 환경 강좌를 개선하기 위한 실행 연구이다. 실행 연구는 현실을 개선하기 위해서 문제 파악 및 계획 → 실행 → 관찰 → 반성의 4단계가 나선형을 그리면서 발전적으로 순환하는 과정을 거쳐 문제를 해결하는 연구 방법이다. 연구자는 기존 수강자들의 강의 평가를 바탕으로 문제를 파악하고 개선 계획을 수립하였으며, 매 학기 진행되는 동일 강좌에 대하여 3개의 학기에 걸쳐 실행과 관찰, 반성을 통하여 대학의 환경 교육 프로그램의 문제점을 보완하고 개선시키는 연구를 진행하였다.
연구 결과 본 실행 연구를 통하여 보완 및 개선된 점은 다음과 같다.
강의 내용의 측면에서는 지구온난화 및 기후변화 관련 주제에 대하여 관련된 과학적 지식의 이해를 돕고 기존 오개념을 수정하기 위한 강의 자료를 보완하였다. 더불어 석유 고갈 문제, 대체 자원으로서 원자력, 신재생에너지 등 에너지 전환 논의와 관련된 내용들에 대해서 연결성을 고려하여 충분히 다루도록 하였다. 또한 환경 담론이나 윤리, 환경 정의 등 수강생들에게 비교적 새로운 환경 교육의 주요 이론들을 쉽게 이해시키기 위해서 관련 내용에 대한 최근 현안을 찾아 수강생들이 다양한 관점에서 토의 및 토론할 수 있도록 하였다.
강의 방식의 측면에서는 일방적 강의 시간을 줄이고 수강생들이 직접 체험할 수 있는 활동과 모둠 활동의 시간과 분량을 늘리도록 하였다. 또한 수강자들의 흥미를 유발하고 관심을 높이기 위해서 생활과 가까운 사례를 찾아 동영상이나 이해가 쉬운 내용의 기사의 형태로 전달하고자 하였다. 또한 강의에 활용되는 자료는 짧은 분량과 높은 전달력을 고려하여 선정하도록 하였다.
본 연구를 통하여 연구자 개인은 강의자로서 전문성을 신장시킬 수 있었다. 실천적이고 실제적인 연구 결과물은 동료 연구자들과의 공유를 통해 환경교육의 발전에 기여할 수 있다. 또한 그동안 답습되어오던 대학 교양 환경교육의 문제점을 개선하고 내실화 및 강화를 꾀할 수 있는 기회가 될 것으로 생각된다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

It is an action research on the development and application of environmental education for the enrichment in liberal art. Action research is a research initiated to solve an immediate problem or a reflective process of progressive problem solving led by individuals working with others in teams or as part of a "community of practice" to improve the way they address issues and solve problems. I found the problem of my lecture through the course evaluation of university students. Throughout the three semesters, I have lectured and observed and reflected all about my classes.
The results are as follows. In terms of course content, lecture material related with the issue of global warming and climate change was supplemented in order to help the student's understanding on the scientific knowledge and to correct misconceptions. In addition, the topics related with energy conversion was enhanced. And relatively new theories like environmental discourse, environmental ethics and environmental justice were introduced for clarity through cases.
In terms of the teaching methods, the amount of speaking time of lecturer was reduced and more time was devoted to group activities. In order to induce the interest of the student, easy cases and short amount of educational resources were provided a
