<져부인젼>의 스토리텔링 양상 연구 = A Study on the Aspect of < Jeobuin-jeon > Storytelling

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 논문은 「져부인젼」을 텍스트로 삼아 스토리텔링의 양상을 분석해 보고 서사를 흥미롭게 이끌어가는 특징적인 요소를 파악해 보기 위해 시도된 것이다.
「져부인젼」은 주인공인 져부인이 가난과 불학의 난관을 극복하고 부귀영화를 이루어 가는 과정을 묘사한 가사체 고소설 작품이다. 남성 중심적인 가부장제 사회에서 부녀자가 중추적인 역할을 담당하는 것도 이례적인 경우지만 저승체험을 통한 시공의 초월은 이 작품의 정체성을 드러내는 소재라고 할 수 있다. 이러한 측면에서 볼 때 조선시대 차별과 희생의 상징이었던 여성을 주인공으로 삼아 기존의 통념을 극복한 「져부인젼」의 이야기는 콘텐츠의 확산과 재생산이라는 측면에서 매우 유의미하다고 할 수 있다.
「져부인젼」의 서사 구조를 분석해 보면 연속된 반전을 통한 사건의 전개와 경외의 공간인 저승을 체험하는 초월을 통해 부귀영화의 삶으로 귀결되고 있음을 알 수 있다. 또한 가족에 대한 무한한 헌신의 과정에서 나타나는 주인공의 탁월한 능력과 부덕의 실천에 따른 조상의 보상이라는 논리가 더해져 복선화음이라는 주제를 더욱 선명하게 구현하고 있다. 그러나 져부인의 성공은 어디까지나 내조적인 차원에 머물고 있으며, 조건없이 헌신한 여성에게 가해진 제도의 폐해와 차별을 드러내는 수준을 보여주고 있다. 이러한 점에서 볼 때 「져부인젼」의 서사에서 발견되는 반전과 초월은 우연히 등장한 것이 아니라 유교 이념을 구현하기 위해 반드시 필요한 장치였다고 할 수 있다. 그리고 져부인의 가족에 대한 절대적인 헌신과 조상의 보상 또한 부귀영화에 초점이 맞추어져 있을 뿐 아름다운 사랑 등이 나타나지 않는다는 점에서 인간애가 결여되어 있다고 하겠다. 이것은 이 작품이 여성의 성공담을 활용하여 유교이념의 가치를 구현하고자 하는 정략적인 의도에서 창작되었음을 의미하는 것이라고 할 수 있다.

This paper attempted to analyze the aspects shown in storytelling using < Jeobuin-jeon > as text and to identify important characteristics that interestingly lead the narrative.
The work, < Jeobuin-Jeon >, playsthe pivotal role of a woman leading her family in a male-centered patriarchal society and reveals the importance of Confucian ideas by experiencing the underworld. In this respect, the story of < Jeobuin-jeon > is very meaningful in terms of content diffusion and reproduction as overcame the existing conventional wisdom by using a woman, a symbol of discrimination and sacrifice during the Joseon Dynasty, as a main character,
By analyzing the narrative structure of < Jeobuin-Jeon >, we can find that the development of events through a series of twists and the transcendence of experiencing the underworld, a space of awe, results in a life of wealth and honor. Also, the main character’s outstanding ability in the process of infinite dedication to the family and the logic of compensation of ancestors according to the practice or virtue added to make the theme of double-track harmony clear. However, the reversal and transcendence found in the narrative of < Jeobuin-Jeon > can be said that they were essential ways to incarnate Confucian ideology, not a coincidence. In addition, it can be considered that the narrative is lack humanity as the absolute devotion or the rewards of the ancestors are also focused on wealth and honor, not showing beautiful love etc. Therefore, this can be said to mean that < Jeobuin-jeon > was created with the intention of incarnating the value of Confucian ideology by utilizing a woman’s moving tales.
