The purpose of this study was to analyze question ratios according to domains and units in summative evaluation of middle school science. This study analyzed quantity distribution of each domain and unit in 15 kinds of textbooks for the 7th grade students of middle schools and compared the result with question ratios of actual summative evaluation questions. The result of this textbook analysis showed that the average of unit 7 was the greatest, and the smallest in unit 9. By area, earth science was ranked the first, followed by life science, physics, and chemistry. According to the result of analyzing summative evaluation items of 14 middle schools, question ratios by unit were similar to the proportion of each unit. By area, question ratios of chemistry were the highest. In addition, questions on the last unit learned at the end of a semester were not set almost at all. Therefore, improvement methods to this should be considered.
