북-미-중 전략적 삼각관계와 제2차 북핵위기 = 북한의 위기조성 전략을 중심으로

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study illustrates the validity of the strategic triangle among the U.S., China and North Korea and analyzes the strategy of North Korea during the second nuclear crisis. The crisis resulted from North Korea’s crisis diplomacy in 2002. The six-party talks started off with the 'romantic triangle'. The triangle changed into ‘stable marriage’ and ‘romantic triangle’ during the second crisis.
North Korea had two strategics in the triangular relationship. First, when U.S. and China cooperated in the ‘stable marriage’ triangular relationship, the perished North Korea tried to pursue the crisis diplomacy. Second, when the triangular relationship was categorized as ‘romantic triangle’- the triangle that China mediated between U.S. and North Korea, North Korea approached China on the U.S.-North Korea bilateral dialogues. Her crisis diplomacy had effects on second nuclear crisis in the strategic triangle of U.S.-Sino-North Korea.
