학교 교육의 과거 50년 교육성과 평가를 통한 미래 50년 발전 방안 연구

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구가 시작된 2004년은 제1차 교육과정이 고시된 지 50년이 되는 해로서, 우리나라 교육의 반세기를 결산하는 의미에서 지난 시기의 교육의 중요한 영역을 유·초·중등별로 분석하여 회고하였다. 동시에 문제점과 개선 방안들을 제시함으로써 우리나라 교육의 질적 도약을 위한 계기를 마련하려는 취지를 담고 있다.
이를 위해서 교육 이념, 교육과정, 교육 정책, 학교 교육의 미래를 주제로 총론 부분의 연구를 진행하였고, 유치원, 초등학교, 중·고등학교 교과 교육과정의 전개 과정을 분석하고, 문제점을 반성하며, 개선 방안을 마련하기 위한 연구를 국내외의 전문가와 명망 있는 학자들을 연구위원으로 위촉하여 수행하였다.
총론 부분은 기조 강연을 포함하여 8명의 연구자가 공동으로 진행하였고, 교과 교육과정 영역은 유아교육과 국민 공통 기본 교육과정에 포함된 초·중등 10개 교과에 걸쳐 42명의 연구자들이 공동으로 연구를 수행하였다. 연구 결과는 전국 규모의 학술 심포지움을 통해서 발표와 지정 및 자유 토론의 기회를 가짐으로써 학자, 교과 전문가, 연구원, 현장 교원들 간에 연구 결과를 확산시키고 공유하는 계기를 마련하였다.
특히, 학교 교육의 미래에 대해서 한국, 미국, 중국, 프랑스의 관계자들을 초빙하여 최근 제기되고 있는 미래 학교 교육의 발전 방향과 패러다임의 변화에 대한 의견과 사례를 청취함으로써 우리나라 교육이 지향해야 할 목적과 방향을 설정하는데 큰 도움이 되었다. 그리고, 학교급별 교과 교육과정에 대해서 해당 분야를 전공하고 많은 연구를 수행해 온 교과교육 전문가들이 발표자와 토론자로서 공동 연구를 진행함으로써 교과 교육의 입장에서 우리나라 교육과정 반세기를 반성하고 미래를 전망할 수 있는 계기가 되었다. 본 연구에서 제시한 교과 교육과정별 교육 목표, 교육 내용, 교육 방법, 평가 방법, 교사교육의 문제점과 개선 방안, 학교 교육 성과 제고 방안 등은 우리나라 교육의 당면 과제인 학교 교육력의 신장을 통한 공교육의 정상화를 기하는데 유용한 지침이 될 것이라고 생각한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The year 2004 in which this study started was the fiftieth year after the first National Curriculum of Korea had been notified. The consideration has been given to the main educational issues of the past. At the same time, improvements for those issues are given for the benefit of quality education of this country.

To fulfill these developments, researches have been performed for an idea of education, curriculum, educational policies, future of education and the curriculums of every schools such as kindergartens, elementary schools, junior high schools and high schools.

As for an idea of education, eight researchers have done the research together including the basic starting preview. Forty two researchers have researched for the development of the curriculums for ten subjects in the junior high schools and high schools which include infant education. By the medium of national wide symposium, scholars, subject experts, researchers and teachers have been able to communicate and share what they have in mind.

Especially it had been helpful to invite and listen to the educational experts from Korea, United States, China and France. It also have been beneficial to have talks with subject experts who have done a number of researches on their subject-related curriculums repectively, which gave a meaningful opportunity for the consideration of the past and the future of education.

The educational purpose, the educational contents, the educational methods and the evaluating methods suggested in this research will be a useful guide for placing the public education on the right track.
