국제혼인 이주여성 피해실태의 원인분석과 해결방안 모색 = The Causes & Solutions of the Problems of Immigrant Women in the International Marriage

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This article focuses on the reality of the women in international marriage and their emigration, and it also analyzes the major problems and their causes in attempt to find reasonable solutions. The immigration/emigration led by international marriage can be explained through the interactions of pushing-out and dragging-in elements. Pushing-out elements are financial difficulties, poverty, joblessness, and political disturbance. In their background exist various social causes such as global capitalist market system, national or governmental policies and international marriage brokers who get benefits from such immigration/emigration of people. The research reveals that, in Korea, constitutional supports ensuring legal status of the immigrant women in international marital relations are not well established, and, as a result, leaving them and their kids exposed to inhumane family environment such as marital rape, violence, child abuse, poor education, etc. In an effort to find legal and practical solutions for those women suffered from international marriage, this study gives great attention to the multiculturalism discourse. And, regarding the offspring education, it especially focuses on German intercultural education program. The program makes children keep distance from the dogmatic knowledge resulting from outside environments and help them acquire the capability to reasonably analyze and resist racism, prejudice and antipathy against foreigners who are ignored and despised by local people.
