한국전쟁 휴전 이후 주한미군 잔류정책 : 미국의 국가이익 규정을 중심으로 = The Redeployment Policy of U.S. Forces in Korea after the Armistice of the Krean War

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper investigates the definition of national interest of U.S. decision makers through the analysis of the redeployment policy of U.S. forces in Korea after the armistice of the Korean War. The commanders of field army such as Ridgway, Hull, and Taylor insisted that the U.S. forces in Korea be withdrawn, putting emphasis on Japan's military strategic value. On the other hand, the chairman of JCS, Radford maintained that the two divisions of U.S. forces in Korea remain, thinking highly of Korea's military strategic interest. The political logic of Department of State made a decisive contribution to the remaining of the two divisions of U.S. forces in Korea. The officials of DOS argued that the redeployment of U.S. forces in Korea be connected with the prestige and the credibility of U.S. in the Far East.
