고암ㆍ성준스님의 가르침 - 인연으로 지켜본 隨聞記 -

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본고는 특정한 사상을 논하는 논지나 주장 같은 내용이 아니고 당대의 대선지식인 두 분 스님의 일상생활에서 보고 들은 내용을 옮긴 글이다. 제1장은 고암스님 편으로 세상에 널리 알려지지 않은 오도의 세계, 일상생활 속에서의 자비보살로서 나툼 등을 기술하였다. 스님에 검소함이란 흐르는 물조차 아껴 사용한 대종사이시다. 세수를 한 물에 발을 씻고 그물에 걸레를 씻어 청소를 하니 절약과 검소함으로 평생을 지내신 분이다. 스님께서의 행위는 무위의 행위였으며, 평상심이었음을 알 수 있다. 제2장은 성준스님 편에서는 스님의 가풍으로 ‘일상이 그대로 깨달음이다’라는 本來成佛에 근거한 현실에 자각 면과 無分別心의 이해와 실천 고정관념의 초월 및 그 타파의 내용을 담고 있다. 남의 잘못에 대한 참회를 받아줄 줄 알고 기다려줄 줄 아는 가르침이야 말로 자비보살의 화현으로 추앙받고 있는 고암스님의 가르침을 계승하여 보여주신 스님의 면모가 아니겠는가 생각된다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper is not the content to insist a specific ideology or an argument, but the story of two great Seon masters at that time I directly saw and listened to. For the first chapter about Goam Sunim, I demonstrated the world of enlightenment which has not been known to people and his actions as the compassionate Bodhisattva in everyday life. He was a great frugal practitioner who saved even flowing water. In the water he washed his face, he washed his foot again, and then washed floorcloth. He lived with saving and thrifty in his whole life. His action was Non-action(無爲), the ordinary mind. For the second chapter about Seongjun Sunim, I demonstrated his school with the originally enlightened (本來成佛) - Everyday life is enlightenment as it is. In the reality based on the theory, this chapter has the part of disenchantment, understanding and practice of non-discrimination mind, the transcendence of fixed ideas and the its destruction etc. With the teaching of accepting and waiting for the repentance of other's mistake, Goam Sunim has been admired as the incarnation of compassionate Bodhisattva. I think Seongjun Sunim showed well this by succeeding his teaching.
